The instructions for the custom domain says to CNAME help.example.com to tenderapp.com. That's not ideal, because now help.example.com will inherit all the records from tenderapp.com; not just the A record needed for the website.

Please setup "custom.tenderapp.com" (or whatever) with just an A record for us to point to instead.

Nope, help.tenderapp.com is a CNAME to tenderapp.com, too:

    help.tenderapp.com. 1800 IN CNAME tenderapp.com. tenderapp.com. 1800 IN A 209.20.65.51

www.tenderapp.com is now an A record. Updated the FAQ.
