It's great that you guys are improving the product - but I'm not really interested. I've got my own work to do and I don't need your content injected right in the middle of mine. Please move it to a less prominent location or allow me to turn it off.

    Paul,

    Given the frequency and quality (i.e. usually announcing major new features) of our posts, I really don't think you'll find the news nearly as distracting as you imagine. In any case, you're welcome to use a browser add-on to use custom css to hide it:

    .admin .news{ display:none; }

    Or, you can use Greasemonkey or similar scripts to remove it, most likely with something along the lines of:

    $$('.admin .news).each(Element.hide)

    Thanks,
    Kyle

    It's not a matter of quality - its because it's the boldest thing on the screen right in the middle of what I'm trying to work with. This is very invasive and is distracting regardless of the quality. If it disappeared after reading that would be fine, but it doesn't it persists and remains distracting. Your CSS suggestion does not work and I do not use firefox. Please provide a valid workaround.

    Sorry Paul, it's unlikely I'll change it in that case. You're welcome to research other browser plugins for whichever browser you use.
