What does the number in the heartbeat email mean?
We turned on heartbeats expecting we'd get regular emails with some sort of relevant or diagnostic stats in them to help us monitor our tender. The email that we get only says something like "heartbeat:6865". I've got no idea what this number is or why this would be useful. Can someone explain?
Thanks,
Aaron

Sorry, I thought we had a FAQ written up about this. We will shortly...
A heartbeat is an email sent from Tender to a customer support address. It measures the time it takes to go through the whole system (Tender => outgoing email => customer incoming email => Tender support email). The ID is there to check that it goes to the correct Category too.
It is suggested that you filter these out of your inbox, or disable them in your dashboard (Site Settings => Email Setup).

Thanks Rick.
Is there any intended use I might get out of this, or am I safe to
disable it and ignore it?

It's used as an early warning detection against email issues. Disabling and ignoring it is fine. We may actually make that the default setting.
We used to have more email issues in the past where our processor would get hung up. We'd get hundreds of emails backed up before anyone realized what the issue was.
