WebHooks for TenderApp?

Have webhooks been implemented for TenderApp? It would be an interesting idea for an 'accepted' Tender discussion (whether it is a question or a problem) to be raised as an issue in a separate issue-tracking system such as GitHub issues.

Obviously, one answer to this question is not to use GitHub issues but to use LightHouse instead :P but I think it will be an awesome feature if TenderApp supported multiple issue-tracking systems.

Thanks for the great app.

  1. Yes, we do support webhooks when users, discussions, or comments are created. This is really waiting on some docs and UI. I sort of meant to do this over holiday break, but you know how that stuff goes :) If you have an endpoint you want me to setup, I can do that. Or if you're just really hot to trot on experimenting on it, I'll add something super basic for you.

There are plans to support other ticket trackers too. The work we did recently adding support for multiple LH projects also abstracted some of the backend. I still haven't come up with a scheme I like for abstracting the UI yet though.

  2. Custom ticket trackers are still a ways off, due to the relative complexity compared to webhooks. However, I just pushed an experimental webhook UI at /settings/webhooks. You won't see a link yet until we have docs done (later this week). If you want to try it out, use Postbin to track the call.

  3. Awesome, thanks a bunch Rick! Will try it out later tonight.

  4. Cool... I'm really interested in how the UI works out for you. The actual webhooks themselves should work fine. Are there any services (like Notify.io) that you want integration with? Are there other events that you want added? For instance, I'm thinking of adding hooks for when discussions are resolved and when tickets are created.

  5. The UI works great. I've deployed a small app called dustin (http://github.com/arunthampi/dustin) which translates TenderApp discussions to GitHub issues.

Yes as a matter of fact there were a few events I was expecting hooks for (maybe I've missed these): Whenever a new comment is added to an existing discussion (so that it can be added as a comment to the GitHub issue as well).

Also, is there some a field which indicates the nature of the discussion (Suggestion/Question/Problem). It will be cool if I can tag issues in GitHub as 'Bug/Feature Request' etc depending on the nature of the discussion. Right now, dustin only looks for problems (by looking at the html_href attribute) and posts them as issues - but I'd like suggestions to be added as Feature Requests to GitHub issues.

    Thanks again!

  6. There is an event for Replies: "when a Discussion is created or replied to"

I just added a 'category' key to the comment payload. I'll let you know when that gets pushed.
