Protecting attachments from download by unlogged in users

When I attach a file to a KB article, it is hosted at AmazonS3, and my Tender provides me a link to copy and paste in any article that I write. The link that is provided looks to be a public link, that anyone can use to download the attachment if they know the link (such as an email from another user).

I'd like to have a download section of my KB where we host copies of our installable software, but I'd like to be able to host the file here on the Tender, and protect the download to users who are logged in, without a public link. Any ideas?

Thanks.

  1. Tender does not have a downloads area. I feel like it's a bit too far from the core Tender support features. It starts to get into some kind of purchasing system like Fetch. It's something we are interested in tackling, but there's just not enough interest currently to think about it.
