Bulk find and replace
Hello,
Overall I've been very satisfied using Tender for the last few years.
One of the things that have come up a few times (rarely thankfully) is that we have sometimes told people on many threads incorrect information before we discovered that we were doing so. While we can correct posts individually and make new correction posts in the same thread, I think it would be useful if we could do some sort of bulk find and replace function for all threads at once to replace the incorrect information with correct advice. I imagine this would function on our end like find and replace would in a word processing program: text to search for, and text to replace with. Not critical, but would occasionally be useful, especially for people searching through older threads trying to find answers to their questions.
Cheers,
Ethan

Ethan -
We'll take this suggestion into consideration. Are you currently using the Echo templates to update discussions like you describe? Using an Echo allows you to keep a consistent message for all your support staff to use.
Thanks,
Nicole

Hi Nicole,
Yes, we use the echo templates. The problem I was addressing is more if we
were inadvertently giving incorrect information for a while and realized it
later (which if we had something like that as an echo would potentially be
even worse). For example, I've seen this come up where we have been giving
a command for people to try in their terminal to address an issue that
lacked a space in a key place, making the whole thing useless, and didn't
realize the problem for a while. If people are searching our threads for
answers to questions, they will likely start trying the first thing they
see from a support staff without reading the rest of the thread first.
Again, definitely not critical, but this feature could be useful at times.
Thanks,
Ethan

Hi Ethan,
I doubt we will implement that. Actually I'm pretty sure we won't. That being said, when you have that kind of very specific need, just ask us. I can do a number of things in the console for you. The main issue is that your site has a large number of comments and discussions, but I can work around that if it seems like a reasonable request.
Hope that helps.
Cheers.
