receiving a lot of spam
Hi guys,
for a couple of days now I'm getting a lot of spam - much more
than before.
Is this because somebody got hold of my support email address and
is using it viciously... or is something wrong with the tender spam
filter... is there a spam filter? I thought there was..
Thanks,
-hendrik

There is not a spam filter for incoming email. A lot of people setup their own spam filters, and then wondered why they'd get caught in the Tender spam queue. Also, the current crop of spam engines are geared towards blogs, or at least web pages. Incoming emails have no remote IP, referrer, user agent, etc. They tend to mark everything as spam. We've tried Akismet, Defensio, and Antispam (our current one), and they all seem to have the same restriction. We're looking into other options.
We also had cases where legit emails were being caught in our public email server's spam filter, with no way for you to see them. We've been working on a new backend for tracking every email and providing spam reports. While the spam reports feature is being built, we've started pushing all spam from our public email server through to Tender. This way you can at least see all the emails.
I realize the spam issue is a big issue, we get nearly as many spam emails as valid ones. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes.

I wish there were as many valid ones as there are spam ones...
Looking forward to a working solution,

Sorry for the delay on this. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to do this. I came up with a simple solution that adds a custom email header that forces Tender to mark it as spam. I'm going to let this run for a bit and see how it performs.

You're still getting it, but in your Tender spam queue. I hate having
to process all of it, but some people get a lot of false positives
marked by our public email server. Other people (like you, or me)
just get junk spam. The spam queue keeps it all accessible if you
need it.

Where would I find that queue?

In the Dashboard, go to All Issues > Spam. There are internal talks
to simplify that area greatly actually, none of us are that pleased
with it :)
