Markdown Bug?

Some time ago, there was some change in the formatting of some Markdown that we generate. We listen for the new discussion hook then create a private comment with additional information about the customer. Like "extras" but more flexible for our purposes. We use simple bullets but the line spacing is booched now. Take a look this this thread for an example:

Can you tell me why the spacing suddenly becomes double after the fourth bullet?

    Marc -

It appears to be related to the * * * line. Is that just mean to be a line rule to separate the data? Since it doesn't happen if I test using ----, I'd just change those to a different character.

    Let us know.

    Thanks,
    Nicole

Ah, thanks for looking at that. Just FYI, it was actually a leading space before the * * * which used to work. Taken literally, the documentation indicates that any 3 or more asterisks on a line by themselves produces an hr:

three or more hyphens, asterisks, or underscores on a line by themselves

The leading space does produce an hr but it appears to then be "part of" any preceding content. Anyway, now we know. Thanks again for your help.
