Tender Widget Defaults

Is there a way to set default variables like New Discussion or
Knowledge Base or the category or if the new discussion is private
by default. I was setting the private setting by default before in
the url ?discussion[private]=1. It would also be nice
to point to a specific Knowledge Base article in the widget. I am
doing this now with my own simple JS popup. I suppose a light-box
and iFrame might solve all of this.

Also, adding a light grey background behind the tabs would really pull the knowledge base tab out more...
