Are Topics/Discussions Searcheable/SEO friendly?

Are forum posts picked up by the search engines? Ideally, all the posts would be searchable, but would require login upon visiting the site in order to view each discussion. Is this possible? This type of functionality seems to be a standard with forum software like vBulletin etc.

Thanks in advance!

If discussions/categories are public then Search Engines will pick them up. You cannot disable anonymous posting for public Tenders though, but you can force login through Single Sign On if users belong to your site.
