Does the application support textile also?
Interested in using the application, however don't really love Markdown ... or at least I'm used to Textile.
Thanks!

Nope, Markdown only. I initially liked Textile too, but Markdown's formatting looks great untouched in text-only mediums (plain emails, for example). Textile has

Thanks Rick, I agree, Markdown has its benefits. The problem is that all our documentation is in Textile so it would take a long time to convert it over. Plus, our application supports Textile only and the documentation needs to be included in the app also.
Have you guys thought about offering users a choice? A few online apps that we use (eg. Unfuddled) have the option to switch tween Textile, Markdown or Plaintext. We are going to do this for our app (especially if we start to use Tender) and in the name of personal choice, I think its the way of the future :-)
Best,
George

No, we're probably not going to support Textile. It's hard enough
getting people to use Markdown properly. You wouldn't believe the
number of hours I've wasted on getting our current system to work for
everyone's little quirks :)

I hear your pain, however I respectfully disagree with your position. I do believe the number of hours spent on doing things right for the end-users "little quicks" is not wasted. This is what makes great (eye-to-eye) user experience and probably why Tender is doing well (bravo).
But more to the point, your app caters to a general development community that is 50/50 split between Markdown and Textile. I understand not having the capacity at this time, but I don't understand ruling it out altogether. Especially since it could satisfy a good portion of the community you cater to.
Ah, but everyone has an opinion ;-)
Thanks for your help Rick, I appreciate your time and we are very excited to get started using Tender ... I just need an intern to convert everything to Markdown :P
Best,
George
