How to order FAQ articles within a section
I can order sections but can't find the ability to order the articles themselves.

You can modify the permalink to force them into alphabetical order. Check out our API FAQ Section.
Yes, I hate it :) I really want to add a manual ordering option.

Great, thanks for the tip! And I look forward to the manual ordering option when/if it comes!
Best,
George

Is there a timeline on when the manual ordering is coming? I hope soon since its a pretty basic feature of any knowledge base (who wants their chapters out of order ;-)
We can't use the API as we don't want to do our own deployment ... we just want to use your system and keep things simple. The only way I figured out how to order the FAQ's is by putting numbers in front of the FAQ's. But this is not great because if I want to reorder them next time I'd have to change all the permalinks and it would break all the reference links. Also, its not so elegant of a solution.

No timeline, but it should be pretty soon. We're focusing on some backend reliability stuff with Tender and Lighthouse before we get back to updating features.
I only pointed to the API FAQ section because I did have them re-ordered. However, it broke some links, so I removed the numbers. Clearly this is a pain point for us, so I'm definitely motivated to resolve this situation.

I understand, thanks for your response. I think we are going to keep the numbers and then hope that when you launch reordering that you give us the ability to managing url redirects ... hint hint nudge nudge ;-)

I didn't have this discussion linked to our internal ticket -- but we quietly pushed this feature out over the weekend while all the crazy shenanigans were going on. The whole FAQ admin is sorted by Section. You can now reorder FAQs in sections, and rename FAQs while keeping a redirecting clone for old links.

You have just made my day! Thank you rick!!! And well implemented, permalink redirect is a super nice tough. And the new way to manage FAQ's is very helpful too...
