Widget Extra Question
Our users are confused by having to answer an additional Spam question when they use the widget. For example they type in their questions an then they have to answer "What month is before July?" I understand that this is to prevent bots or whatever, but we've got them logged into and authorized through our site..
Is there any way to drop this question on our widget?

I see the Site setting for "Enable Spam Protection". I did uncheck that. What else do we need to do? I did try to access the Widget again in our app and I still see spam question.

Hey Matt,
I'm sorry, but we don't currently have a way to disable the spam question in the widget. Minus a few edge cases we haven't received much feedback where it was a problem, and it was curbing off a lot of incoming spam.
The disable spam feature is for the check inside the main Tender Support area, not for the widget.
I'll file a request and try to get some developer feedback where we can work to solve any confusion.

Yes, and I can connect our developer with yours if need be. It seems to me that if we're authenticating our users and passing that onto the widget, then we should not have to worry about Spam and could therefore do without the Spam check on the widget popup.

It would be nice, if at the very least, the user is informed why we are asking them "What is the month before June?". Some of our users aren't very tech savvy and they are really getting thrown off by this.
Please let me know if you can make either of these changes. Preferably turn off Spam filtering in the widget if it's off in teh tender.
Thanks!!!!!!!

Okay Will, for the record: So there was something wrong with our Mutipass Single sign on. NOw that this is working correctly, the Widget does NOT use the SPAM question. So perhaps the combination of Single Sign on and unchecking the SPAM question option results in what I desired...no spam questions when folks are using the widget in our app.

The SSO shouldn't be removing the spam captcha. The captcha itself is only removed for 'trusted' users. A trusted user is someone with at least 3 non-spam posts in Tender. Though, I feel like sites should be able to create users with SSO and make them trusted automatically.

Hi,
I've spent much of today evaluating Tender and I'm pretty impressed.. but this is the one sticking point. I can definitely see how users can get confused with the question.
Is removal of the spam filter on an SSO authenticated widget something we can expect to see soon?
thanks,
Orlando

I've added a
trusted
attribute for SSO. It's not deployed yet though. We have a big update (in terms of documentation, a lot of this is in use already) for API/SSO stuff.10 Posted by Orlando on 18 Dec, 2009 03:43 PM
Great, thanks! I'll look forward to the update.
