Disable private discussions at different levels of granularity

Hello,

We (www.sharpcrafters.com) are providing different levels of support. Everybody gets support for free, but we monetize private support.

Would it be possible to fully disable private discussions or, even better, to enable private discussions to people belonging to some "group" (our SSO service would tell you if the user is allowed to post private issues)?

Thank you.

The closest Tender is probably able to get you is Important/Beta users. Once your users have signed up you can designate them as Important. You can also have categories and KB articles that only those Important users would be able to see. Your users could still create discussions in any category, but if you directed your paying customers to the paid category and made the category private, all discussions made there would be private.

There are some other options where you could filter customers using SSO and the extras field in filters to make discussions made automatically private and put in a specific category/queue. But non-paying customers would still be able to create private discussions in public categories, there is no way around that.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    Nicole
