How can I let anonymous users view attachments?

We want to use Tender in private mode. Most questions involve billing and other private customer data.

Customers can send e-mail into our Tender, and when we reply, you send them a link that lets them view the private discussion. That's great!

However, if we attach a file, they are not able to view it unless they create an account. Which is hard to do, because the Tender is private. (Also they don't really want to create accounts just to get a quote from us...)

Is Tender right for us? We want to manage e-mails coming in to our customer service agents; we often need to provide attachments in our replies. We don't need a public FAQ or Knowledge Base.

    Hey Nate,

This sounds like a valid request, given that users who create discussions through the web site ARE given access to the attachments. We'll discuss a time line for this.

    Thanks,
    Matt

Are you using ssl for your tender site?

No, we're not using SSL. Our test site is desi-2.tenderapp.com, if that helps.

Ah ok. So the issue is that the attachment link sent in the email to the customer doesn't work? If so that should be a small fix, we just need to add a parameter to the url.

    Exactly.

Thanks for your report, Nate. We just deployed the tweak to add the parameter to attachment urls.

We do plan to offer HTML emails to clean this up a bit, and start embedding attachments under a certain size in email notifications.
