features for securing sensitive information

Hi. I have a customer with concerns about filing issues with sensitive information. My company is setting up an SSL cert for our https://support.example.com/ domain, and requiring all access to be via SSL is one step towards this. But there's no way to secure the e-mails sent out.

Does Tender have any features for managing this, either planned or already implemented? One idea I had is that someone can add a "sensitive" comment to a private discussion, and the e-mail will just say "Joe Customer has added a comment which contains sensitive information to this discussion. Please view the complete discussion at https://support.example.com/discussions/...." That is, the actual text of the comment would never be sent in an e-mail.

Also, it would be good to have a way to deactivate any anon_token access tokens for a discussion. Perhaps do this automatically if a discussion has any sensitive comments.

Perhaps this is too much, too complicated, or using the technology the wrong way. But I would value your perspective on insecure e-mail issues.

Kind regards,

Tim

Hey Scott. We're currently in the process of migrating our server setup and won't be offering SSL certs on custom domains for a period of time. The setup is a little more complicated on the new server as it's using EC2 instances which don't have the same IP setups. We hope to offer dedicated instances for Tender soon, which will allow for custom SSL and private hardware usage, but that will be an additional Tender plan more than likely.

We haven't really had any questions or feedback as far as email security and sensitive information included in email is concerned. There is not a feature currently in development as far as that behavior is concerned.

I wouldn't say it's too much, as we strive for Tender to be as flexible as possible, but it is a unique situation that we haven't come across as of yet.

    Will,

Thanks for the reply. I guess it is something to add to the idea bin.
