Sales Question... Why Tenderapp?

There are a number of hosted competitors to Tenderapp and options to chose from. However, the two best - look to be Tenderapp and Zendesk and that is the direction I am looking. I like what appears to be the various additional functionality to Zendesk, but don't know that I really need it and want to pay for it. On the flip side, I do like the development mind behind Tenderapp in that “keep it simple, make it work and do what you do well”. Too much functionality/choice can be a bad thing. Given the investment in time that I am going to put in, I want to make the right choice.

Price difference: We need 4 agents. Zendesk is $116/month and Tenderapp is $49/month. A difference of $804 annually (and that is today). While it doesn't sound like much, there is no reason to waste money...

Any guarantees on price being locked in for Tenderapp customers so to avoid the mess/worry that happened this past week with Zendesk users?

What we need today:
- We are a small online SaaS company focused on the mid-market business as our target customer. However, our clients do range from the mom/pop shop to the Fortune 500. We give live support M - F from 8 - 5 PT, but check emails over the weekends.
- We need: 1) Public Forum to build community, 2) FAQ/Knowledge-base with great results display, 3) Ticketing, and 4) Misc: search, branding... Both products look to do this with +/- to each offering. - Our objective is to empower our customer to help them help themselves and answer any questions, to make them more knowledgeable/comfortable with their plan, and to have a stronger method of contact with us -- ultimately increasing retention rates.

MY QUESTION:
Why Tenderapp and not Zendesk? I know you are cheaper, but don’t know that alone justifies it. Help me understand why you are the right choice. Frankly… I’ve read too much info on both site and can’t decide.

I appreciate your time, assistance and feedback.

Why don't you sign up a trial with us to see? It'll take less time
than this email did (there are only two form fields to fill out, and
nothing to configure to get up and running).

Honestly, interacting with both sites should tell you which to run
with, because with basically similar features it comes down to how the
site works with your intended workflow and opinions.
