How to insert an image and quote text.
Hi, I've just discovered Tender and am trying to get a feel for what it has to offer and whether it meets my needs. So far I am very impressed. I have a support Forum which uses vBulletin and want more functionality and a better user experience.
So far I have two questions I am unable to find answers for.
1. How does a user upload & insert an image in a
discussion.
2. How do you quote text from an earlier item in a discussion
thread.
These are both commonly used in Forum software.

My question seemed simple enough and I am concerned that after 4 days there is still no reply, which is very dissapointing. This is impacting on my decision whether to sign-up or not.

Hey Neville. Sorry about the delay in response.
We use markdown for text formatting, http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax
A user can upload an image using the file upload, which adds it as an attachment. You can embed an image link directly in a discussion using markdown (http://daringfireball.net/projects/markdown/syntax#img), but it must be uploaded somewhere else, like skitch or an image service.
To quote text from an earlier thread, or portion of a conversion, you can use markdown to format a quote, which is done by adding > in front of the line.

I hope that helps. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks Will,
It would helpful to add these to the 'Formatting Help' pop-up window. Or better still allow us customers to modify the 'Formatting Help' to best suit our users.
Can an attached file be used as an image link? ie. Is the URL available for the attachment.
Neville

An attached file cannot be used as an image link, as it has to processes in the ticket after uploading, that can take up to a few minutes depending on how the load is on the servers.

OK. The ability to upload and embed an image in a discussion would be most welcome.

Hopefully in the future we'll be able to automatically generate sizable views from uploads or implement an embed feature. Thanks for the feedback.
