CNAME question
Hi There,
I have had a CNAME record pointing to www.tenderapp.com for the last couple of days and its still not resolving.
I have followed this: https://help.tenderapp.com/faqs/setup-installation/using-a-custom-d...
In the screengrab of godaddy, the domain used is tenderapp.com while the directions state to use www.tenderapp.com Would this be the problem, that I have been using the www?
I have attached a screengrab of what I have had set up with my host. (the first textfield says support.travelstormer.com BTW)
Can you give me any advice?
thanks
George

it shouldn't matter which (www or not) you use, but right now your support.travelstormer.com just redirects to travelstormer.com - so maybe you need to check the setup at godaddy. Does it just want the word "support" in that field instead of the full hostname?

Hi there,
Im not setup with godaddy its Mediatemple. I have attached a screengrab of all of my DNS settings within mediatemple and there are others which use the subdomain format, so Im pretty sure its not supposed to just be "Support"
Does this have any relevance? https://help.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/66-dont-cname-to-th...

Ah, ok. Try adjusting the cname to www.tenderapp.com.

thats what I had in there for 48 hours, then I removed the www off the end. (see my first post)
So currently there is no www on there. I guess I have to wait again.

It looks like support.travelstormer.com is an A record to
72.249.38.155 and it also appears that your DNS is hosted at
rimuhosting.com not mediatemple. So maybe you're at the wrong site,
or forgot to switch your NS records?
(Also, can't you adjust the TTL to something lower?)

OK I got this sorted, it was someone else who had control of the DNS (our developers) so they ended up having to do it, even though I seemed to have the controls.
Thanks for your help.
George
