New discussion category
Hi,
http://clientattraction.tenderapp.com/discussions/authentic-list-bu...
I created a new discussion category (Authentic List Building) and marked it as invisible so it doesn't show in the Public area but how when posts are created the user still sees them in the recent discussion area and can click on the post to see the category, etc.
I want to keep this new discussion category separate from the public/main discussion category we already have setup.

Any ideas / assistance here?

Invisible isn't meant to be unviewable. It just means it's excluded from the public discussion listing.
It sounds like what you might want is a category that is invisible and private. This hides the category from being listed in the public discussion listing. By making it private, all discussions that come into that category will be marked as private and will not appear in the recent discussions for non-logged in users or logged users other than the discussion creator and support staff.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
NIcole

Yes, but we want is that category to be viewable to those who have
access to the category but not accessible to public discussion.
Can we setup permissions for this based on category?

Hi Nicole,
Did you see my last reply? Is that possible? I still don't understand if the category is marked as invisible why does it show in the public discussion / recent post area?
Thanks,
Derek

Hey Derek. It's showing because discussions in that area have been made public, which will make the category visible. If everything is marked as private, it will go away, but users will only be able to see category/discussions if they have been added as a watcher.
It sounds like you want a specific set of users to have access to a category that no one else can see?

Correct - I want specific set of users to have access to a category
that nobody else can see.

That isn't technically possible at this point in time.
