Just got switched to the new interface, very nice!
However, now I no longer have a url slug field, the ability to create a forward (if i change the slug) and no preview link. Also, in the listing of articles, there is no more preview link (eg. link to the published article).
Did you get rid of these features? If so, then how do we manage article slugs, forwards and preview articles we are working on?

HI George,
I've created a ticket for our developers to investigate this. Some of the links in the new design have been removed, but due to popular demand, we may put them back.

Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, I just updated an existing page and it was auto-named the slug /certification-2 and I need it to be named /certification ... so now the URL's on my website are broken. I could update my website but then what happens to the folks that have the old URL. Tender just 1 day ago allowed me to change the slug or do a redirect if needed.
As for preview, trying to update my FAQ's was difficult without it - toggling between browser tabs. And now I don't even know how to preview a draft anymore.
Sorry for my little rant, I'm sure you guys have a lot on your plate. Again, the redesign is super nice. But please don't use "popular demand" to sugar coat "sizable oversight". It's a somewhat condescending don't you think?

The preview functionality is more of an oversight mixed with the fact that there is additional development work still left on it.
Editing the permalink/slug was a functional design choice. It's supposed to be more automagical now. Naturally there are still some kinks to work out. If you rename a title that redirects back, it shouldn't have to have a -2 at the end of it since it's using the same names as before.

Thank you Will for the explanation. No problem on waiting for the preview!
As for the slug functionality, the new redirect magic is great! Though it was nice to have control of the new slug. It would be great if they weren't mutually exclusive - that redirects happened by magic and I can still manually control the slug. For example, if the article title is "How to change a slug" it's nice if I can choose to make the slug simply "/slugs" instead of "/how-to-change-a-slug". Just a suggestion :)
As for -2 ... not sure what is happening there. My original article was called "Get Certified" (or something like that) and then I changed it to "Certification". As I created the article before the switch to the new interface, maybe I had set the old slug to be "certification"? If I did, now without slug control, I can't use that URL anymore ...
Here is the article in question: http://support.krrb.com/faqs/credits-and-certification/certification-2
Thanks for your help!

We're currently working on the preview right now.
I've also attached your discussion to our development ticket for the permalink stuff. We'll let you know where we go from here.

We've just deployed an update that includes an article preview inside knowledge base edit pages.
There are still a few kinks, so if you notice anything, please let us know.

Thanks Will! The view is a bit broken, see the attached screenshot including my system info.
This is a great feature enhancement and will be very useful. However before there was a link to the real published article and I guess that's what I meant by the "preview link is missing". That's just what it was called in your app before.
So I guess it is nice to be able to actually "preview" but it would be wonderful if there was a way to get to the actual user-facing article just like from the user-facing article I can "edit".
Best,
George

Thanks for the feedback George. I've attached your discussion to a ticket on the rendering issue. We should have it addressed soon.
I see what you're saying about the posted article. I'll bring it up with the team. As it stands, the UI doesn't work quite like before, and since the old preview was showing you the actual saved version of the file in it's location, it worked a bit differently. It might be possible to add a link in the listings views though.

Excellent thanks Will. In my recent tickets, I forgot to mention that the new interface is absolutely brilliant. Very nice to use.
As for a linking to the article, that would be great — from the listing and also from the edit view.
Anyhow. Thanks for listening and for such a great product!
Best,
George
