search results by issue category
When searching issues, it would be nice if results could be identified in one of the following ways (they all accomplish the same end result):
- filterable by category
- show category in listing summary
- sub-sort and title results by category

Good point. We're reworking search to use sphinx, hopefully to deploy this week.
I'll be sure to include category in the summary, as well as filtering.

What ever happened with this? is sphinx implemented?
in Tender, we don't see results by category or the ability to search by category. what gives?

We have some pretty heavy updates to the dashboard in the works that includes filtering by category and some advanced search tools that cover a few of the missing bases. It's still not finished as of yet though.

Any timeframe on this one - being a software developer I know that giving a release date is next to impossible but can you give us a general idea? next month, 4th quarter, in the year of the Rabbit?
We really would like this since our different software products are arranged by "Category" and when a customer searches for info on Keyboard shortcuts or something they have to see results for all 14 of our products, likewise searching by a word we know is in a post doesn't find the post. Even if we could internally add "Tags" to items I think we'd be in better shape, doesn't Lighthouse have a "Tags" feature that could be adapted to be in Tender?
Please note, we are more concerned about our customers being able to search and find what they want than our employees.

There is not currently a timeframe. We have a few items on the list before we get to prepping our dashboard updates for release and then add additional search functionality.

Any updates on this? We are really hoping our customers could search by product for FAQ's. Currently they search and info for all of our products comes up and overwhelms the usefulness of the search.

We've added some additional filter options to the search UI, including filtering by KB article section and discussion category.
