Out of curiosity, what is it about deleting the attachment and
reposting it in a new comment that does not suite your
workflow?

Thanks!
a post, then I realise I the attachment is wrong, then I need to

Each comment generates a notification, and if you added an
attachment, it goes with the email as well. For this reason, simply
replacing the comment on the web wouldn't be a good solution. In
general, I find it's best to let the customer know they need to
discard the previous attachment, and use the new one instead, which
involves making a new comment.

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers!

Julien
