Support private issues for groups

We have a multi-tenant, multi-user application (think basecamp or lighthouse) and we'd like all users in a tenant to have the option for their co-workers to see their tickets, but still be able to keep the issue private.

Something like this for discussion privacy:

  1. private (individual)
  2. private (group) suggested
  3. public

Is something like this possible or on the cards?

Thanks! Mark

Not currently, but this is a great idea. I have a feeling it might not be a simple addition though. The public/private bit on discussions is a simple boolean, which would have to be converted to an integer. The other option is to allow users assume if two users are grouped in the same company that their private issues are shared? This isn't taxi-cab confessions, so I don't see why you'd want private group and private individual issues.

Another thought that Will brought up is the ability to just add users as a participant to the private issue. I don't know, we may mash this and groups together. As you can see, there are various parts of this functionality that need to be fleshed out:

    • Configurable watchers/participants for a discussion.
    • Configurable groups/companies for users.
    • Group/company dashboard for submitted issues.

Good stuff, that's going on the list.

This has been scheduled in our development pipeline, hopefully we'll get it this month.

+1 on this, we also want to allow some of our users to see each others private issues.

    Any status?

Ah not yet, things have been busy and that developer had to be reassigned to another task.

Sorry to keep bugging you. But is there any update on when we can expect this feature?

Because of the increased usage of TenderApp by our customers, this is now their biggest complain, since they cannot have multiple employees following the same issue and replying.

The complaint has gone all the way to the highest level in our company, and they are considering replacing TenderApp, which I as a developer would hate.

    Hey,
There's been no progress on this. We've been on a feature freeze while
we shore up the reliability of the backend systems. We feel it's more
important to have a rock-solid architecture than new features at this
point. Once we get the backend systems stable, we will start
    deploying this.

This feature is definitely high on the list of things to develop next.
We've developed part of the functionality - the "notify" command
    available only in email replies.

    It's not really a solution, but it's a start :)

Hey we have this feature in experimental mode currently. If you want in - let us know. It's experimental now because it's only 'half done'. You can create and manage groups for your customers. We're waiting until users can manage their own groups.

Also, you can simply add another user as a watcher to a private discussion to give them access to it. This update went out with the Watcher upgrade a few weeks ago.

Lovely, but too late for us. We are migrating to a competitor of yours, for this feature and improved statistics. Just letting you know.
