Make private threads more obvious?
A lot of our users panic when their emailed support question appears online, and start demanding that we delete the post off our forum and/or threaten legal action for posting their precious private correspondence 'publicly'.
Could it perhaps be made more obvious that the thread can only be seen by the author & the admins? Maybe just changing the line in the email saying "View this Discussion online" to "View this private Discussion online" might help?

We just rolled out an update for this that add's a clear lock icon. Is the email wording really the source of the confusion? I'm quite sure we add the user's anonymous discussion token so they can view their private issue without logging in.

I'm quite sure we add the user's anonymous discussion token so they can view their private issue without logging in. I think that's part of the problem - some of our users are just seeing a link at the bottom of their email, clicking it, and are surprised to find their private email online, without them even needing to log in to see it.

I've added the word "PRIVATE" to the link for private discussions.
I wonder if there's more we can do to the discussion page itself to make it more apparent that it's private. Right now all you see is a dark 'MAKE PUBLIC' button... We'll discuss various options.
