From the Hoth blog:

The UI team hasn't had a chance to get a hold of this one just yet, but it's a feature that we're extremely excited about while developing.

What filters are going to allow is a sense of automated organization, most notably with queues. You set a list of parameters, and everything that comes in matching those settings will be filtered accordingly.

Right now, the UI is our current focus. After that, we'll worry about adding more filtering options.

I wouldn't worry too much about the UI, just get people using it and the UI will shake out through feedback. Very much looking forward to this one.

Supporting groups will be really important for filters. For example, we would like to route requests into queues based upon whether or not a person belongs to a group (e.g. regular vs. priority support).

We may also need filters actions that can add users to a group, or invite people to participate in a group.

Yup, filters were added before groups :)

Once groups are pushed out, we'll be adding email and filter actions for groups.

For now, groups don't cover the 'high priority' user use case. Users can see all posts from within their group.

Sherman, question for you: would you need more than one priority group? I only see the case for "this user is high priority .. or not".
