Search by ticket number?

In our organization, we're constantly referring to ticket numbers in Tender. I would love it if there was an easy and fast way for any of our support staff to pull up a specific ticket by number - I think a great way to do this would be to search by ticket number in the standard 'Search Discussions' box that shows in the upper-right corner of the admin interface.

Is something like this possible? Or is there another fast way users can find a specific ticket? (I already know the trick about editing a URL to just include a different number, but that's a little less intuitive and doesn't work across different categories.)

Thank you!
Jason

    Hey Jason,

While I could see this being useful, our development schedule is already pretty packed and I'm not sure when I would have time to build this feature.

If your team is using Chrome, I do have a suggestion for you though. Most browsers have a mechanism for "custom search engines" which allow quick searches to websites you visit often. So here is one way to use this to your advantage:

    • Go to the preferences (in menu bar, Chrome > Preferences)
    • Manage Search Engines
    • In "Other Search Engines", add this:
      • Name: Tender Questions
      • Shortcut: tq
      • URL: http://help.acfpreview.com/discussions/questions/%s
    • And:
      • Name: Tender Feedback
      • Shortcut: tf
      • URL: http://help.acfpreview.com/discussions/general-feedback/%s

With that done, you can now open a new tab and just type tq 34 to go to http://help.acfpreview.com/discussions/questions/34. Basically, the %s gets replaced with whatever you type after the shortcut (tq). You can of course customize the shortcut, the name, etc...

    Firefox offers similar functionalities.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi Julien,

Thanks. It works fine when I tried it out. I didn't hear back from a few
other users so I don't know if they even tried it, but the actual process
seemed to work fine. Thanks for following up.

Great. I'll close the discussion for now. Reopen it as needed.

    Cheers!
