"Batch" email notifications

Support staff can easily be swamped by notification emails from Tender.

Basecamp (the new one) recently added a feature where all todos delegated within a 5 minute period are batched into a single notification email.

I find it annoying that Tender will send an email that you've been assigned to a task often followed immediately by an internal note from the person who delegated it. Maybe this particular case could be addressed by allow staff to assign another person and comment all in a single action.

Also, not sure if this still happens but it used to be that if I delegated to myself (added to my queue), I would still get notified. I wonder if Tender could ignore notifications for actions triggered by someone for themselves. Hope that makes sense!

Cheers,

Galen

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm not sure we can delay emails for 5 minutes so we can batch them. I am not entirely happy with that! I'll think about it, though.. What email client are you using that doesn't thread messages? :)

You'll be happy to know that with the new "assign to supporter" code, it doesn't send you an email when you assign something to yourself. You can also reply to an email with "#mine" and it'll assign to you.

Cool. I like the #mine tag. Agree about delaying—you're right, not a good idea.

I think the best solution would be to have an assignment dropdown next to the reply box so you could assign a user and make an internal comment all at the same time.

On that note, if you send an internal reply by email and assign at the same time, will it send TWO notifications?

    E.g.:

    #assign User
    #internal

    This is an internal message.

    Cheers,

    Galen
