Support searching for anon users by email, and/or discussions by email substring

Use case and a nice-to-have idea. When I get a support question from a@b.com, particularly in email (so they're an anonymous user), I'll often search for b.com or b to look for related tickets. Right now:

  • b.com won't match the anonymous user (though it will match the discussion), even though there's an URL for their anonymous profile/discussion list
  • b won't match either the user or the discussion, though I didn't know that until I started investigating for this ticket. I could be the only one who assumes that searches are matching on substring, though.

So if they're practical, the nice-to-have(s):

  • match anonymous user email addresses on substring (so b brings up this guy)
  • match discussions (or at least emails) on substring (so b brings up this thread)

All of this depends on me not being the only person doing searches like this. If I am, nevermind :) Thanks,

Troy
